Pioneer Cottage

 

This extraordinary and original house and museum is a living piece of the local history. You will find it at 5 Ballinger Crescent, Buderim.

 

Built from pit-sawn cedar and beech around 1880 by one of Buderim's original residents, J.K. Burnett. You guessed it . . . they named the main thoroughfare after him!

Nowadays the cottage is owned by the BWMCA cared for by the Buderim Historic Society and is listed by the National Trust and National Estate Register.Visitors are able to see rooms furnished in period decor and displays of historic Buderim memorabilia.

The Pioneer Cottage is an irreplaceable first hand link to Buderim's colonial origins and a must-see for residents and visitors to the area.

Entry is available Daily 11am-3pm.
Group tours available by appointment.
A small entry fee applies.
