The Festival's special guest was gardening expert Colin Campbell , from ABC TV's "Gardening Australia" and Radio 4BC's "Talking Gardening". Patron of the Buderim Garden Club, he held a Workshop in the grounds from 12.30 - 1.00 p.m. to answer any gardening problems people had and also presented trophies to the winners of the Garden Show.
The six open gardens varied in size from a Walled Courtyard Garden to a 2-acre Property, a few details are given below.
1. A beautiful courtyard garden, near the Main Road, but still a peaceful haven.
2. The Garden in North Buderim is a corner garden, with many surprises, colourful, a shade house with many special plants, well worth a visit.
3. This garden is on top of Buderim and is very well set out with some unusual plants and lots of bromeliads.
4. A Battle-axe block hidden from the road but what a surprise awaits you. A collection of tropical/sub-tropical fruit trees, many rare plants and
as well this owner keeps chooks and bees, very different from the other gardens.
5. This garden is also on top of Buderim. Hiding behind the fence is a garden with a Balinese flavour, many pathways leading through the trees
leading to one of its water features, even a waterfall..
6. A must see, this 2-acre garden is amazing, large palms, bromeliads, cordylines, bananas and much much more, all this and a wonderful view
as well.
Light refreshments will also be available throughout the week-end in the hall.
