Maroochy Regional Bushland
Botanic Gardens
This magnificent facility is set on 82 hectares west of Buderim off the Tanawha Tourist Drive. Gullies filled with ferns and palms, a lagoon home to myriad wildlife, picnic areas, natural bush walks and special areas where the natural attractions have been supplemented with art and sculpture are among the large array of features awaiting lovers of Australia's bushland.
The Gardens are set to grow with a recent Maroochy Shire Council purchase of another 30 hectare plot.
The established garden areas and parks are a favourite for weddings and family outings, there are many picnic tables overlooking the lagoon and forest areas.
There are no barbeque facilities, but you are welcome to bring your own, there are good quality toilet facilities and a covered area onsite.
No rubbish bins are provided, thereby reducing the number of crows etc. which congregate around such devices and interference with the natural activity of wild animals. The Council asks that you PLEASE TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME!

The gardens are maintained by the Friends of Maroochy
Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens Inc, established in 1996 before the Gardens were started!
The friends
volunteers are at the Gardens every Tuesday and the second Sunday of each Month,
working hands-on in the facility and are responsible for much of the planting, landscaping and maintenance. They are also active in securing funding, planning and construction of new projects with the Maroochy Shire Council.
If you would like to be involved in "The Friends" you can contact the President on 07 5445 5525 or email them at
sheargolds@optusnet.com.au
General meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month at Buderim Craft Cottage.
